Born in Martigues, Marion Zurbach began her training at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille, before joining the Ecole Atelier Rudra Béjart Lausanne. From 2003 to 2015, she worked, among others, for the Ballet National de Marseille and the Tanz Compagnie Konzert Theater Bern. In 2015, she founded the artistic association Unplush with Vittorio Bertolli. In 2018, Marion finished her Master’s degree in theatre and performance at the Bern University of the Arts. Since its foundation, Unplush has been touring in Switzerland and abroad and received the June Johnson Dance Price (Swiss Dance Awards 2019). Since 2019, she regularly accompanies artists as a choreographer (Cologne Opera House) or dramaturge (Urban Dansdagen Festival Eindhoven). In 2019/21, she participates in the creation Sea Change by Boris Charmatz, as a dancer and assistant, and creates Les Promises, a film made with teenage girls from the northern districts of Marseille. In 2021, she joins Artagon Marseille, creates Biche, a piece co-produced by the Dampfzentrale Bern and the far° Nyon. In 2022-23 she creates Reef for the Tanz Ensemble Luzerner Theater and Les Héritier-x co-produced by the Dampfzentrale Bern.
Born in Naples, Giulia is a documentary filmmaker and author working in the field of visual arts. Her projects are long-term investigations of themes mainly related to the mental and emotional phenomena of the human race, both politically and spiritually. Her practice often involves the communities linked to the places where the works take shape, adopting participatory and horizontal methodologies. After graduating in Sociology, Anthropology and Communication at the Federico II School in Naples, she moved to Lisbon and undertook a research project with CRIA - Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia, focusing on the anthropology of emotions. In 2018 she specialised in Speculative Narrative at the ERG art school. In 2019-21 she is in charge of the audiovisual direction of the project Les Promises, in collaboration with the company Unplush. Her first feature film TERRA IN VISTA, selected for the twenty-sixth edition of JIHLAVA international documentary film festival, is currently being broadcast. She lives and works in Lisbon with the production company TERRATREME.
